Four policies recently completed the comprehensive review process and have now been approved:
- Academic Unit Authority Over the Curriculum and Major: The amendments include defining “academic plan” to include certificates and aligning the language with the policy for Adding, Changing, or Discontinuing Academic Plans.
- Admissions for Undergraduates: Twin Cities: This policy was updated to clarify the language, align it with current practice, and clearly identify the responsibilities of the applicant, admissions, colleges, Provost.
- Campus Specific Credit Requirements: The policy now includes minimum requirements for minors and certificates (at least 3 upper division credits at the campus in question).
- Course Numbering: The updated policy has a new policy statement to address the purpose of the policy and a definition of “Independent Study.” The table of course numbers is now in an appendix and the policy language was aligned with the policy for Application of Graduate Credits to Degree Requirements.
Other policies that went through comprehensive review this academic year include Awarding Posthumous Degrees; Educational Materials Conflict of Interest: Twin Cities, Crookston, Morris, Rochester; Instructional Time per Course Credit: Twin Cities, Crookston, Morris, Rochester; and Scheduling Examinations, Final Examinations, and Study Days: Twin Cities, Crookston, Morris, Rochester.
