New registration times and changes to queue

In order to ensure that students are able to successfully register for May, summer, and fall terms, registrations periods will be earlier:

• May/summer registration for degree-seeking students will begin March 9
• Fall queued registration will be March 23 through April 4
• Open enrollment for both May/summer and fall terms will begin May 1

Students will start receiving their registration queue time emails approximately two weeks prior to the start of registration. This means holds must be placed on a student's record no later than Thursday, March 5.

A change to how the registration queue will be created will go into effect for fall 2015 registration. With the new queue, stages will be defined based on cumulative credit total (completed and in-progress credits only) and students will then be randomized within those stages. This is how the queue will be created once the Upgrade is complete, but based on positive feedback regarding this change, it will be implemented now. Additionally, in order to create registration appointments for all students in this shorter timeframe, appointment times will extend into the evenings and weekends. Students will receive additional communication about these changes in addition to the usual email with their registration time a few weeks before queue registration begins.
